This candid photo series explores an afternoon walk in Waikiki, a common dream destination for visitors around the globe. The picturesque and pristine paradise that is often portrayed in Hollywood is in actuality similar to other city destinations complete with crowds, traffic, construction, advertisements, litter, and homeless. While the beauty of Hawai’i is undeniable, one cannot discount the dissonance of the media’s image of the tropical vacation spot and the realities that locals experience every day.
