This conceptual photo series documents the waste of one shopping basket worth of products purchased during a weekly grocery run to Whole Foods. What is photographed are the remains of the items after they have been consumed or used.
As the viewer analyzes the series as a whole, the issue is clear – the amount of plastic waste created through the food industry is significant. Though items from a health store, such as Whole Foods, are deemed “healthier,” the single-use plastic packaging is not healthy for the environment.
Ironically reminiscent of product advertisements, the series brings to light the importance of mindful purchases and consumption.
